Your basic traditional towbar
commonly used on commercial vehicles and cars that requites a bumper guard.
We can also offer a ball and fitment
If required.
Aesthetically nicer to look at than the fixed flange type but is it not possible to fit any kind of bumper guard with the swan neck type.
Aesthetically the same as the fixed swan neck towbar but with the added bonus of being able to remove the neck when not in use and in most cases the towbar itself is completely invisible when removed as the electrics socket also folds up behind the bumper.
The basic option of towbar electrics
that takes the signal for the trailer lights from the vehicles rear lights via a bypass relay to avoid any extra load on the vehicles existing wiring. This system does not integrate with the vehicles body control modules so is generally not suited for vehicles with park assist features.
This type of electrics is designed to work with the vehicles body control modules allowing the vehicle to know when you are towing which therefore activates certain towing features your vehicle may have like towing stability and disabling park assist features when towing, this system will also in most cases disable the vehicles rear parking sensors when towing to avoid a constant parking tone when reversing. Most vehicles will also need a ECU software update when fitting this type of electrics which is always included in our prices.
Generally most trailers, lightboards etc only require 7 pin electrics, 13 pin electrics is generally used for caravans and some newer bike racks. Older caravans will have a twin 7 pin electric setup and in which case a 13 pin to twin 7 pin adaptor can be used on these caravans or if need be twin 7 pin sockets can be installed on your vehicle.
Please contact us to discuss if you have any doubts about which electrics you might need.
